Dear Expectant Mother,

Before we get started, we both want to thank you for choosing adoption.

This shows us that you love your child and would do anything for him/her. This decision is very courageous and we appreciate you taking the time to consider us.

Our names are Sean and Amber. We met in 2000 and were friends until we started dating in 2002. We dated for 3 years before getting engaged and married in 2006. We have a daughter named Hayley that was born in 2008. While Amber was pregnant with Hayley, Sean was in a motorcycle accident and suffered a spinal cord injury. He is confined to a wheelchair but he does not let that stop him. Amber has been a nurse for 14 years and currently works doing home health. Her schedule is very flexible and she is home by 3pm most days. Sean is a stay-at-home dad and has a small in-home woodworking business. Hayley is 10 years old and very excited to start middle school this fall.

We always wanted 2-3 children and after Sean’s accident, we were not able to have children naturally. The topic of adoption came up several times but it was never decided as the option we wanted until Hayley introduced the topic. She is a very nurturing person and wants nothing more than to be a big sister. We feel that the Lord led us down this path through our daughter. When we are chosen, Sean will remain a stay at home dad and Amber will continue to work after taking several months off to bond (and sleep). Amber usually starts her work day at 9 am and is home by 3. She does usually have some paperwork to complete, but in order to have family time, has made a rule to put work up by 7pm.

We don’t have a vision of a certain child in mind. We are open to many situations and backgrounds and feel that if it is God’s will, we will be obedient and love and nurture the child no matter what. We hope to have an open adoption but know that some mothers/fathers do not want this. We will raise a child with the knowledge that he/she was grown in someone else’s belly but have always been loved in our hearts. We hope to have 3 to 4 visits per year and let the situation guide our decisions in this area. We will also utilize phone apps or email to exchange pictures and updates.

Again we want to thank you for considering us to love and nurture your child.
