Meet Jesse & Kara

Dear Birth Mother,
We are Jesse & Kara, and we would like to thank you for considering us as possible adoptive parents. We know the decisions that come next will be difficult and the challenges will be many. But we also know adoption is a beautiful act of selfless love and that you wish the very best for your baby. We look forward to meeting you and building a special relationship with you and your child.
Kara and I met when we were in kindergarten. We both come from a small town in Northeastern Oklahoma. Our town was the typical small town where everyone knew everyone, and we all knew each other’s business. We both grew up together, attended the same small school, and attended church together. We were both very busy and active in church, sports, and jobs and did not date while in high school. We both went off to college and would come home occasionally to see our own respective families and church family. It was after high school we reunited at a high school football game and the rest is history! Kara and I went on to attended college together. We dated for 3 years, married in 2009, and then both graduated college together. I later went on to graduate school, which took us out of state and we returned home to Oklahoma in 2016.
Kara and I have a strong faith in Jesus Christ and we strive to love him and others to the best of our abilities. I (Jesse) serve as the pastor of a church in Enid, Oklahoma. Prior to serving in Oklahoma, I was a youth minister in Louisville Kentucky, and in Shawnee Oklahoma. Kara works at a tech school doing lots of things! Specifically, she coordinates and teaches CPR and first-aid to companies, schools, and anyone that wants to learn.
Kara and I have been married for 14 years and have always wanted to have children. We have explored many options to have children of our own, but none have helped us. We have fostered children over the past several years in the hopes of providing a child with a forever home. We have always had a heart for adoption and in 2021, took placement of a 11 month girl and she was in our home for 15 months. We then received news that she had a baby sister on the way and we took placement of her at birth. The goal was always adoption for them, but at the end of 2022 our hearts were broken when they were removed from our home. Since then, we have tried to pick up the pieces of our lives and keep moving forward. It was then God lead us to Deaconess and now to you!
There are infinitely more things to share with you. We understand loss and heartache and wanting the very best for the lives entrusted to us. Kara and I know God has a plan for you, your baby, and for us. We are praying for you. We are praying for strength, courage, and understanding in all you decide in the next months.
With Love,
Jesse and Kara
