Meet Chris & Sarah

“The life you are considering a home for is incredibly valuable. Your life is also incredibly valuable!"

Dear Birth Parent,

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. We hope it gives you a glimpse into our family’s story and our care for you. We look forward to welcoming a new life into our family through adoption and we want to thank you for considering us! We believe it has taken true courage for you to choose to seek out a loving family for your little one.

Chris grew up in northern California and he is stable, fun, and generous. He works hard, enjoys being active, and is great at reading books out loud to the rest of us. Sarah grew up in Oklahoma City and she loves people: helping us thrive as a family and keeping us connected with our friends and extended family. She has chosen not to work outside the home and a new family member will be a welcome addition to her days there with Rachel and Alexa! She enjoys baking, traveling, and playing games. Alexa is thirteen years old and full of fun! She is often found hanging out with friends, playing piano, drawing, or reading. Rachel is one year old and loves to play, be with our family, and wave at anyone or anything she sees! She loves to be outside and is walking faster and saying more words each day.

Chris’ marriage to Kelsey (Alexa’s biological mother) and Rachel’s adoption are important parts of our story. Kelsey died when Alexa was four years old after battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer. After three years as a family of two, Chris and Alexa welcomed Sarah into the family when Sarah married Chris six years ago. Sarah officially adopted Alexa in 2019. In 2022, we met Rachel moments after she was born and have absolutely loved having her as part of our family through adoption! We continue to treasure the gift of Kelsey’s life, Rachel’s birth family, and the ways their stories impact our family.

For several reasons, we are confidently pursuing adoption again.  Some things that have led us to this point are: a struggle with infertility, the beautiful picture of adoption that we see in God’s Word – through faith in Christ we are fully welcomed as children in God’s family, friends and family who have adopted, and knowing the gift of adoption deeply in our own family! We look forward to growing our family through adoption again.

We know there are many joys, challenges, and changes that come with raising children. Parenting Alexa and Rachel has been helpful preparation. We are currently in the teenage and toddler phases, which both keeps us on our toes and teaches us to treasure the gift of each day we have together. In addition to our own children, we frequently enjoy time with family members and friends who are children. In fact, Chris is often considered the favorite uncle! Alexa is comfortable around Rachel and is consistently growing in her role of older sister. Alexa loves to see Rachel experience new things and wants to pick her up from her bed after naps anytime she can. We will cherish a child of any ethnicity – knowing each life is uniquely made in God’s image. Rachel is a different ethnicity from us, and we have bonded well and truly believe she adds to our family in every way. We love children and look forward to loving and treasuring a new life in our family!

We want to serve you and this baby as far as the openness of adoption. Our initial thought would be sharing pictures often and meeting once every four months, but we are glad to discuss further.

The life you are considering a home for is incredibly valuable. Your life is also incredibly valuable! May the Lord bless your choice of life and guide you in choosing a family for this child.
